Nevertheless, they had to attend different Universities in Texas. Scheffler attended the University of Texas while she went ahead with the Texas A&M Uni. They were able to remain strong despite being forced into a long-distance relationship for four years following the current world No. 1’s brief internship in Zambia.

When did they marry?

After turning professional in 2018, the two-time Ryder Cup player won his first professional event at the Evans Scholars Invitational in 2019. In the following year, the couple decided to go on a hike to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve where the pro would ask Scudder to marry him. The duo got married in their hometown the same year in a church ceremony, witnessed by only close friends and family.

After the marriage ceremony, their guests were invited to a reception at Arlington Hall where they hosted a winter wonderland-themed party. But what’s more adorable was that the duo was showered with snow by guests donning red Santa hats as they drove away in a golf cart.

Meredith and her philanthropic side

The golfer’s wife is the Director of curating opportunities at Behind Every Door (BED), a non-profit organization. She helps provide the youth in underdeveloped neighborhoods in the Dallas area with sports, educational, and creative programs. Faith being an integral part of their relationship, she believes that everyone has their own unique gift and the children deserve to discover the gifts given to them by God.

The professional’s wife is also the co-founder, VP, and event planner for a company that supports the lives of people affected by cancer at a very young age — With Purpose College Station. Moreover, she is also the ambassador of a nutrition organization known as Juice Plus which “delivers concentrated plant-based nutrition that helps you bridge the gap between what you should eat, and what you do eat, every day.”

The BED Director did not know anything about the sport before Scheffler came into her life. The golfer has been the one to teach her whatever she knows about the game. Although she didn’t have the faintest idea about the same, the philanthropist was able to understand much about it later, especially after spending a lot of time on the road with him.

The couple has had many moments on the course. One such special instance includes the 2022 Masters Tournament when she caddied for her husband. The 2019 PGA Rookie of the Year’s wife had also carried his bags for the Par 3 contest in the following year in 2023. Meredith Scudder and Scottie Scheffler are not the only such example. Jordan Spieth also met his future wife in high school, and together they too have gone from strength to strength.
