The 2022 Sentry Tournament of champions started with its first round on Thursday. The plantation course looks in immaculate condition and it is going to be an enthralling week of golf. Golfers are playing the par 73 golf course for total prize money of a whopping $8.2 million and the winner taking home $1.476 million.

Tony Finau’s father-in-law and Alayna Finau’s father Tipa Galei passed away last year. As a result, the players were wearing green ribbons as a mark of respect for the deceased. Justin Thomas, Tony Finau as well as the majority of players were seen wearing the green ribbon on their golf caps. Even Tony’s long-term coach Boyd Summerhays also wore the green ribbon. Alayna posted a thank you post on her Instagram profile to all the tour players who supported her.

Golfers displayed the same when the Australian golfer Jarrod Lyle passed away in 2018 at the age of 36. They wore a green ribbon on their caps in the WGC Bridge Stone Invitational. Jarrod Lyle was suffering from Leukemia.
