Tony Finau’s father-in-law and Alayna Finau’s father Tipa Galei passed away last year. As a result, the players were wearing green ribbons as a mark of respect for the deceased. Justin Thomas, Tony Finau as well as the majority of players were seen wearing the green ribbon on their golf caps. Even Tony’s long-term coach Boyd Summerhays also wore the green ribbon. Golfers displayed the same when the Australian golfer Jarrod Lyle passed away in 2018 at the age of 36. They wore a green ribbon on their caps in the WGC Bridge Stone Invitational. Jarrod Lyle was suffering from Leukemia.
