After The PGA Tour now the LIV Golf 2023 season is also coming to an end. With the Miami event’s team competition this week the season will officially end. The semi-final last week in Jeddah has been a spectacular tournament with lots on stake.

But the biggest setback was for those four players who were relegated from the league. Those golfers include Chase Koepka, Jed Morgan, Sihwan Kim, and James Piot. They will no longer be playing in the LIV 2024 season. But the question that arises that if they will be able to play in the team championship this weekend Let’s find out.

Can the relegated players play ever in LIV Miami?

For players like Koepka, Gooch, and Smith who won spectacular prize money this year this has been among the best season of their career. But for those players who let alone winning, couldn’t even make a place in the top ranks, this year has been full of disappointments.

Right now things are gloomy for Chase, Morgan, and the others. While the hope of playing again on the LIV Tour is dwindling they will be able to play in Miami this weekend. All the above players have been relegated from the upcoming season but the Miami event still comes in this season and they are eligible to play this week. Without them, their teams will be incomplete.

The terms of LIV Golf are much different than that of the PGA Tour. LIV has proclaimed itself to be much more liberal than its rival. From three three-day tournaments to a less hectic season, they delivered everything they promised. But it is not that easy to win on the new tour.

The tournaments spanned through continents with whopping prize purses. Clearly, to maintain all this the competition was tough. Chase Koepka and the others failed in this tough competition.

Can Chase and others ever play for LIV Golf?

The LIV tour will hold a promotion tournament where the winner of the Order of Merit in the International Series will receive cards to play in LIV Golf events in 2024. The promotion tournament will be open for players of 2023. Besides the relegation, there are also those outside the top 24 of the season-long points standings who have no assurance of coming back for the next season.

Speaking about these matters Phil Mickelson said to the Straits Times that if the merger finalizes in time then these things will be possible “I think the merger talks allow for it. It allows and kind of opens the door for that.” He also expressed the possibility of more players joining the Saudi-backed league.
