‘Will Is on Fire’: Months After His PNC Championship Fame, Annika Sorenstam’s Son’s Latest Achievement Brings Joy to the Golf World

When it comes to a fun-loving athletic family, Annika Sorenstam, and Mike McGee are always the first to come to mind. The Swedish professional golfer, her husband, and her kids have become the most loved golf family among fans, and why not. As much as the GOAT loves golf herself, her son Will McGee has been following in his mother’s footsteps.

Not only does Jr. McGee love to golf, but also is pretty awesome at it. Following his terrific performance at the PNC championship, the budding golf star yet again won the hearts of the golf world after his recent event.

At such a tender age of 12, fans are enthralled by the young prodigy Will Nicholas McGee, and his performance that has again given them an eyeful of to witness during this week’s event. Even his parents were proud of him for strengthening his game. 

Will’s father, Mike McGee took to Twitter to announce how proud he was of his son and wrote a heartwarming tweet for him. The tweet said, “Will shot 70 at Isleworth today. He had never shot even for 18 holes to date and skipped straight to -2. We heard about every shot. Love his enthusiasm. 😊❤️@ANNIKA59.” Minutes later, fans started pouring hearty comments under the tweet appreciating the young golfer.

PNC crowd chants for Will McGee!

At 12 years old, being the youngest golfer to play at the tournament, Will McGee grabbed the limelight for good. At the PNC Championship in December last year, young Will shot a 6-foot birdie and fans went crazy. They cheered for him, calling his name and waving to him. The future golf star first hugged his mom, Annika Sorenstam, and then waved back to the crowd.

He was even grateful to have the opportunity to play at the PNC and said, “It was also incredible with all the people chanting for me. Thanks to PNC for inviting us.” It is for sure that this young golf prodigy will go on to become a great golfer like his very own mother and rewrite history someday, given he already has started strong.
