Roy Cooper’s statement about the Presidents Cup
The Presidents Cup is already a cultural feather this year after the news of Charlotte hosting it was announced. And the recent statements by North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper have given another reason for the fans to not miss the tournament. “We’ve just become a centerpiece for golf around the world,” he said.

Cooper believes that the game being held in North Carolina is going to make a huge difference in the economic situation of the place. He said that the tournament will have “a direct $2.3 billion impact and in excess of $4 billion in indirect impact,” on North Carolina. However, there was more to what Cooper had to say to the reporters on Thursday.

Becoming the “centerpiece for golf around the world”, Cooper added yet another update about the tournament’s uniqueness. According to him, fans might just witness one of the biggest golf events worldwide in the presence of three of US leaders, including Former US Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.
He also added that the fans might see the current US President Joe Biden at the tournament. “with President Bush coming, with President Clinton coming and maybe with President Biden coming Sunday, I think that will just add to the aura of the event,” he said.

Cooper praised Charlotte for hosting the tournament
People are very excited to watch the tournament in the presence of the former POTUSes. However, another thing that adds to the beauty of the event is the venue.
According to Cooper, the city of Charlotte has “the ability to be a big city with a community feel.” In his words, Charlotte has “all of the amenities of urban life, but at the same time, people are so welcoming.”

Many big names have emerged to be appearing at the tournament. But the ones who are now a part of the LIV Golf league, are no more allowed to play in the tournament. However, fans were expecting a decision about letting the LIV players participate. But as of now, all those players are banned from appearing in the Presidents Cup as well as other PGA Tour and DP World Tour tournaments.
