After much speculation and rumors, Jon Rahm, one of the major names under the TGL banner, has withdrawn his participation from the league. This sudden shocker gave TGL their first big blow, even before their inception. Hours ago, there were many rumors about the sudden disappearance of the celebrated golfer’s profile from the official TGL website. But now, official statements have clarified the disheartening reason behind the sudden absence.

The league with a heavy heart has issued an official announcement to the Sports Business Journal clarifying Jon Rahm’s absence. ‘”We will miss him during the inaugural TGL season’, stated the League. There are tremendous speculations over why he is leaving, and it even includes a LIV Golf association. But soon after TGL officials addressed the sudden departure, the World No.3 golfer himself came forward to clarify the cause behind the sudden decision.

Rahm clarified that the main reason behind his decision was focused on his personal psyche. TGL, especially its inaugural league will have its ample share of tensions and commitments, and Rahm feels like he is not ready to fully immerse himself in the ordeal. ‘ While I still think it’s a great opportunity, right now it would require a level of commitment that I can’t offer’, stated the Spaniard.

While this sure is a cathartic moment for the Ryder Cup winner, now the major question falls on Tiger Woods’ dream league. A replacement has to be found, and in the next few weeks, the organizers will be pursuing the opportunities to find a perfect match.
