LIV Golf signed Phil Mickelson recently to play in its Invitational Series for $200 million. Notably, it is just an appearance payment, and if he wins at least one of the tournaments, he will bag more millions as prize money. What is the net worth of Tiger Woods in 2022, and is he still richer than Phil Mickelson?

The sudden rise in Mickelson’s net worth is impressive. However, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Tiger Woods has a net worth of $800 million in 2022. Therefore, Mickelson will still fall a little short of Woods in terms of career earnings, even if he does the unthinkable and wins it all.

As for Woods, the 15-time major winning champion didn’t play any official tournaments for a year because of the car accident he suffered in 2021. Yet, according to Forbes, he is the 14th highest-paid athlete in the world in 2022. Notably, he earns $68 million per year from endorsement deals.

Interestingly, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman revealed that they offered Woods a high 9-digit deal to join the league. However, the golfer turned it down and chose to stay with the PGA Tour.

Mickelson and Woods are two of the best golfers of all time. However, with his wins and endorsement deals, Woods has always beat Mickelson in terms of career earnings. While Lefty will likely see an enormous growth in his bank balance after the LIV Golf Series, it won’t be enough to beat the 15-time major winner.
