Will Tiger Woods Receive His $15M PIP Victory Upfront?
Follow Us
Tiger Woods has been the talk of the town since they announced him on the PIP list. The Player Impact Program by PGA tour is to reward the players who “generate the most positive interest in the PGA Tour.” It means the PGA tour gives money to the most important tour members. The PIP focuses on all the pro golfers who stood firm and stayed with PGA when LIV Golf enticed many players away from the traditional tour with lucrative contracts.
This year it’s even more exciting because they increase the money pool from $50 million to a whopping $100 million. The circuit will distribute it among 20 players (plus three players this time) who qualified for the “objective measurement criteria” via five categories. They give the staggering $15 million to the pro golfer on top. And this year, again, it was the 82-time tour winner, Tiger Woods. So, does Woods deserve the money?

Is Tiger Woods eligible to get the PIP amount?
Woods did not play much this year; however, he could move a needle enough to stay in the limelight. To be eligible for PIP, a golfer must be a member of the PGA tour in good standing and should have played at least five Tour events. However, the former no.1 has been recovering from his injury and only played on three occasions, but he made other things count. He teed up thrice this year. Pro made a cut at the Masters Tournament, made another cut at the PGA Championship, and missed a cut at The Open Championship.

The golfer flew to Wilmington, Delaware, to be part of the essential transformative player meeting for making a more significant difference in golf. However, in the coming days, he will be a busy man. The GOAT of golf will be playing in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas from December 1 to 4, 2022.
