Will Zalatoris shares amazing Jordan Spieth story

Spieth, who grew up in Dallas, played golf against some other professional PGA Tour golfers like Zalatoris and even Scottie Scheffler. Earlier this year, Zalatoris spoke about Spieth, and how the three-time major winner was a star even back then. Now, while there were plenty of tournaments, the 25-year-old chooses to recount a story from a random round played when they were children.

They played at the Bent Tree Country Club, where Spieth shot a score Zalatoris could not “fathom shooting”.

Spieth started with a good Hole No. 1, making a “3-footer for par”. “Then he birdies 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 to shoot 29 on the front and shot 63 and shot the course record that had been there for 15 years,” Zalatoris said.

Overall, Zalatoris added that it has been fun watching Spieth grow. He added that one can always expect some 30- or 40-footers and a chip-in during every round.

Spieth – who is a part of the Dallas Jesuit team – was the first to win the three back-to-back state titles. He also won the US Junior Amateur event twice, becoming the only other person after Tiger Woods to do so.

What event is Jordan Spieth playing now?

Spieth last played the CJ Cup at The Summit Club in Nevada, where he finished T18. With 2021 almost about to end, Spieth will most likely play at the Sentry Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Kapalua.
