Justin Thomas made an early exit at the US Open. It was one of the worst experiences of his life as he carded four straight bogeys and finished with an 81. But at the Travelers Championship, he had the chance to make things right.

Justin Thomas makes a funny dig at Wyndham Clark at the Travelers Championship

Justin Thomas has a good sense of humor which doesn’t get affected by petty emotions like jealousy. And he proved it today during the first round of the Travelers Championship when he threw a light-hearted jibe towards Clark. Wyndham who is enjoying being crowned the reigning king of the US Open, is maintaining his humbleness in the same manner as before. During the first round, he requested Justin to mark his ball on the putting surface, to which Justin gave a funny response.

Justin’s response was picked by ESPN‘s hot mic as he said “Guy wins one f****** US Open and I gotta mark it from 80 yards.” This is just Justin’s way of being satirical without any intent to insult Clark with whom he shares a good friendship. Clark may be the winner of two latest PGA Tour tournaments, but that doesn’t protect him from other golfers’ wit!.

Thomas’ embarrassing failure at the US Open

The former world No 1 missed the cut by 12 shots at the US Open. Afterward, he admitted to being “humiliated and embarrassed” by his performance. About it he said “It can leave you speechless, both good and bad, and right now it’s unfortunate. But once I’m able to reflect and figure out what I can learn and get better from, it’ll end up good. But it sucks right now.” Out of the 156 players at the event, Justin finished in 153rd position.

Thomas will definitely try his best to revive from his bad performance last week. However, people will also be on a look out for Wyndham Clark. The 2023 US Open winner hardly got any time to celebrate his massive victory as he had to prep for the Travelers Championship this week but hopefully, it will be worth it.
