World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, recently confessing, “I definitely miss the competition,” and “I wish some of those guys had stayed,” just might be turning into a full-blown manifestation. However, the whispers began about three months ago. Or well, it was veteran Fred Couples announcing it to the world via Seattle’s KJR 93.3 FM. Back then, he began talking about his friendship with the LIV golfer Brooks Koepka. But while saying that he won’t say much, he did happen to mention how his friend, “Wants to come back. I will say that: I believe he really wants to come back and play the Tour.” Although the veteran’s words were not liked by Phil Mickelson, Brooks’ response aired the murmurs.
In an attempt to soften the blow he might have had after Fred’s honestly, Koepka ended up adding more fuel to the fire stating how, “Right now I’m just focused on how do I play better, how do I play better in majors.” Despite him knowing, “I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill,” his uncertainty over “we’ll see what happens” did not make his case. Back when LIV Golf kicked off in 2022, Brooks was one of the first PGA golfers to make the move. He signed a huge contract of over $100 million that time which runs through next year, bringing Alan Shipnuck’s words “This is the existential question of the year,” more urgency for LIV. But while the PGA-PIF deal doesn’t seal and the PGA-LIV rivalry doesn’t end, Koepka’s wife Jena Sims continues to be the bridge.
Previously, in the 2024 U.S. Open, Sims appeared in Tony Finau’s wife, Alayna’s, TikTok video along with Sahith Theegala’s girlfriend, Juju. And before that at the Masters, Sims and Finau made a reel hugging each other. If that wasn’t a sneak peek into their friendship, they were together again during the 2024 Open Championship when Alayna and Jena showed their love for each other in another TikTok video. And just when everyone thought Brooks was playing it cool, his wife’s actions on social media told a different story, again.

A fresh batch of photos popped up online just a day ago, taken in the PGA Championship’s home, Charlotte.. Alayna Finau posted, “Good times in Charlotte!🪻” where she had a collection of photos with family outing to strawberry picking at Springs Farm, life with kids, and of course, the championship. But when you go to the 11th slide, you can see the girls holding bouquets. And guess who’s right there amongst all the golf WAGs? Jena Sims, Koepka’s stunning wife!
Seems like the group banded again to hang out with Juju Chan, Presleigh Schultz, who is Akshay Bhatia’s girlfriend; and Alayna Finau. Does this little PGA Tour “wives and girlfriends” reunion speak volumes? Well, Alayna Finau and Jena Sims aren’t just casually hanging out; they’re good friends who truly support each other.
When Alayna faced questions online about wanting easier access to the golf greens, Jena didn’t hesitate to back her up with a strong “Tell them.” Their connection is an example of unity both on and off the course, proving that behind every great player is a great support system.
While Koepka publicly plays the vague contract card, this subtle signal from his inner circle could be another big hint that Koepka’s transition to the PGA Tour might happen after his $100M contract runs out. Back in 2024, after a tough run in the majors, he made it clear in Chicago. He said,
“The majors were terrible. I put a lot of emphasis on those, and just cutting those wasn’t—that’s how I judge my year.” What he’s really getting at is that no matter how well he performed in LIV Golf, including his wins that season, it’s the majors that truly define his success. This clearly suggests that the PGA Tour is where his heart lies since he’d have easier access to majors from there.

Koepka is not the only one…
After joining LIV Golf in 2022, Laurie Canter took home a good paycheck. But then he lost his European Tour status. Things weren’t clicking until he fought his way back, winning on the DP World Tour and climbing the world rankings again. That comeback earned him a spot in the 2025 Players Championship, which turned out to be his gateway back to the PGA Tour. Even young players are starting to realize the difference between the two tours.
Eugenio Chacarra, though never been a PGA Tour player, definitely respects the tour way more than LIV Golf. He’s been pretty open about how LIV promised things like Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points and spots in majors. He said, “When I joined LIV they promised OWGR and majors… but it didn’t happen.” So, money aside, he decided to walk away from LIV. He went on to win the 2025 Hero Indian Open on the DP World Tour, which brought him a big step closer to his real goal by giving him a 2-year DPWT card.
