The Horizon Irish Open concluded recently at The K Club, and Vincent Norrman conquered the field. He carded a stunning 65 in the final round and claimed the trophy over the field. However, after tying third in the final leaderboard, another PGA Tour is making headlines about his game and vision towards the event in Rome.

The PGA Tour pro has a perfect response for his game at The K Club

Irishman Shane Lowry had a strong start at The K Club. He made a strong start to the tournament and was in close contention for winning the event. However, by carding a seven-under 65, Norrman jumped six spots ahead, winning over the likes of Lowry and 2016 winner Rory McIlroy.

In the post-round interview, the reporter asked Lowry how frustrating it was to get close to the win only to lose it. The Irishman fired a 68 and tied on third after finishing 12-under par and two strokes behind the winner. Even though disappointed, the PGA Tour pro responded perfectly to the lost feat. The 36-year-old pro surely knows how to spot a glimmer of hope and move on to the next!

“Yeah, look, it’s hard, but there’s so many positives to take away from the week. Irish Opens are tournaments that are generally a struggle in the past and I felt like I was great out there all week this week. Played some great golf. Did everything really well. It’s probably one of the best tournaments I’ve played this year so far and that’s kind of nice. Exciting few weeks of golf ahead of me now and this is a great way to start and hopefully, I can build on it from here,” he responded.

Irish Open also posted an appreciation post for Shane Lowry on their Instagram.

The golf world has been in splits over Shane Lowry’s presence in the European squad for the Ryder Cup. While some see him as a suitable captain’s pick, many fail to understand why. However, since the day he’s been selected, the PGA tour pro’s focus has been improving his form in the tournaments before the patriotic event.

Shane Lowry thinks he is ready for Rome

Many golf enthusiasts thought that Luke Donald should have picked the in-form Adrian Meronk instead of Lowry. Even the Polish golfer himself was shocked that he was not part of the 12-player roaster. But the speculation did not hinder the PGA Tour pro’s confidence.

Since his selection, Shane Lowry saw all the events before the Ryder Cup as a way to build up his form. And he finds happiness knowing that he can embrace his dream by playing in Rome. Even amid several controversies, the PGA Tour pro remained confident and optimistic. And we see a similar response from him now as well.
