With $2,000,000, and American Pride at Stake, Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson Join Forces on the LPGA Tour for the International Crown

The anticipated wait of 5 years has finally been satiated. The International Crown Golf event will begin from May 4- May 7. The TPC Harding Park will see a crowd of fans and some exemplary talents in the field of golf. The event brings with it a colossal two million purse. The eight teams to compete for the same are The United States, the Republic of Korea, Japan, England, Thailand, Australia, the People’s Republic of China, and Sweden. The US Team is one of the favorites to win the season as they have scored the top positions alongside Korea. 

The US Team setup and its ranking

The 2018 game field had its own intensity when the Korean Team was victorious at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. However, this year the thrill is doubled as the United States takes the first berth in the world rankings. A strong representation in the form of world No. 1 Nelly Korda, veteran Lexi Thompson, world No. 4 Lilia Vu, and Danielle Kang will have the viewers and professionals excited.

After all, the team has more than 50% win percentage in the Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown. They come with a pedigree for the event as they secured the crown in the year 2016 in Chicago. Fan’s expectations to see them play their final on Sunday, May 7 will be high. A fusion of excitement and nerves will center the greens.

Danielle Kang, who helped secure fourth place for the US at DIO Implant LA Open, said that she cannot wait to go to San Francisco as it is her birthplace. She also added that she can’t wait to play with the other players of the US Team at the International Crown. Comments like these embrace the enthusiasm the game has to offer. The team to win the tournament will receive $500,000/$125,000 per player, followed by  $330,000/$75,900 for the second place and $280,000/$64,400 for the third. Other teams to take a seat at the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth position will receive  $240,000/$55,200, $185,000/$42,550, $170,000/$39,100,$155,000/$35,650,$140,000/$32,200 respectively.

The open-air seating at the International Arena is all set to welcome fans as the golfers gear up for the mouth-watering competition.
