All the events of LIV golf took place successfully in 2022, with their last event in Miami. The circuit is preparing to make 2023 a blast, and many news names are set to join the Saudi-backed course. Their first Australian event next season will take place in Australia, as announced by CEO Greg Norman.
However, many PGA venues are said to be part of LIV. The opening ceremony of the circuit will take place at Mayakoba’s El Camaleon Golf Club next year. According to the schedule by GolfChannel.com, it wasn’t the only venue with a PGA legacy that was taken over by the rivals of the tour. Mayakoba has been hosting the World Wide Technology Championship since 2007, but now it will host LIV’s inaugural from Feb. 24-26. Their next event will take place in Arizona from March 17-19.

LIV Golf took over PGA venues?
According to the reports, the Saudi-backed circuit has taken over a former Ryder Cup venue and made it their own for the 2023 season. The Real Club Valderrama is the best golf course in Spain. Not a surprise that another Donald Trump-owned golf course will be part of LIV. The long-time tour venue, Trump Doral, will hold the team championship of the Saudi-backed golf tour. According to the tentative schedule, the final event will occur in Miami. However, the tentative schedule does not mention Florida for the March and Oklahoma for the May events.

It is not just the former PGA and European tour venues taken over by LIV; now, the events will also collide. One of the 14 events of the Saudi-backed circuit will be played on the same day as a major event.
The Norman tour’s Bedminster, New Jersey event will be played in the same week as FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. It is the first of the three playoff events of the tour, and now it will collide with the PGA event. However, the events can also be played opposite a major championship, a World Golf Championship, or any of the tour’s “elevated” events. Only time will tell.
