One of the kindest yet most controversial players in the golf fraternity, Phil Mickelson has a unique fan base around the world. Ever since the golf legend switched to the LIV Golf league, the PGA Tour has been struggling to retain other players from following in the footsteps of Lefty. That is how influential Mickelson can be at times. However, despite his habit of getting into trouble for speaking about controversial issues, the golf legend only had kind words for his parents on their 54th wedding anniversary in 2018.

It was September 20, 2018 when Mickelson wrote a heartwarming tweet on his account. “Today is my parents 54th wedding anniversary,” he wrote. ”They are wonderful parents and grandparents but most importantly, they are the best example and role models for what a great marriage should be. So much love and respect.”

The LIV Golf star once shared an incident when he was trying to sneak some candies along with his sister, Tina. But soon, his father caught the siblings with a mouthful of candy. As expected, due to his non-lenient personality, Mickelson Sr. took all the candy and burned it in the fireplace.
On the other hand, Mickelson’s mom, Mary Mickelson, has been super-supportive in his career as a golfer. His parents were aware of his interest in the game ever since he was a kid. “He won the junior world in the 10-year-and-under division,” his father said. “At that point, he told me he wanted to be a professional golfer”
