World No.1 Jin Young Ko Has a Simple Tip to Hit More Greens in Regulation

The current world no.1 Jin Young Ko is on fire right now! After all, she had won six times in her last 10 starts. As the most successful professional golfer on the Tour at the moment, what is the one thing that makes her different from other golfers? 

The LPGA star is known for hitting the greens in regulation. Although it might seem easy, it is actually hard to hit the greens in a row. And Ko had hit 66 on the official tournaments, making her the golfer with the most consecutive greens in a row on the LPGA as well as PGA Tour.

According to practiaclgolf.com, the simple way to improve your golf score is to practice hitting the green often. It is hard to consecutively hit the green. However, it would increase the chances of putting and thus lower the score. And Ko has mastered the skill.

“It’s not unusual for me to hit 14 or 15 greens a round,” said Ko. Until recently, the golfer was on a streak of hitting the greens in regulation. However, her streak ended on the fourth green at the HSBC Championship, which she eventually had won.

According to Ko, the location of the hole is not important but hitting to the green is. The golfer further explained that she tries to aim the largest area on the greens while hitting the long approach shots. “For shorter approaches,” she added. “I try to leave myself with an uphill putt.”

Jin Young Ko is a consistent player who has won 6 of her last 10 LPGA events. Even though it was her first tournament after a long three-month break, the golfer had managed to win the HSBC Championship. She shined on the tournament with her skill to hit the greens in regulation.
