Since the beginning of his career, Tiger Woods has dominated the golf world by winning 100s of titles worldwide and creating records. As a modern-day GOAT, many, including professional golfers, have named him in their dream foursome. However, have any of them made it into his list as well?

Whenever the question arose, Woods always had the same answer: to play one more round with his father, Earl Woods. Woods Sr. passed away at 74 in 2006 after battling cancer. As his father, mentor, and the one who introduced him to golf, the 15-time major champion was close to Woods Sr.

Almost two decades have passed since Tiger lost his father. Yet, he still lives in the golfer’s memories and has always expressed his dream of playing another round with his father. However, when the ‘dream foursome’ question arose again before Capital One’s The Match, he had a different answer. 

Has Tiger Woods taken his father out of his dream foursome list?

Tiger Woods teamed up with Rory McIlroy against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth at Match VII at Pelican GC in Florida. The Bleacher Report released a Q&A session with the 82-time PGA champion, in which he revealed the change he made to his foursome list. 

“It wouldn’t be a foursome,” Woods told the Bleacher Report. “It’d be my dad, myself, and Charlie.”

Charlie Axel Woods is the 13-year-old son of the legendary golfer. Like his father had trained him to become the best golfer in the world, Tiger is also helping his son to achieve his dream. And despite being in the presence of the top golfers on the Tour, he named his father and son on his dream foursome list.

Charlie Woods started pursuing his dream of being a professional golfer like his father in 2020. He began his junior golfing journey and has even participated in the PNC Championship with Tiger since then.

Although he has yet to win the belt at the father-son event, his South Florida Section Junior Tour profile shows that he has won once. Furthermore, they combined to hit 11 consecutive birdies – a tournament record- at the PNC Championship was high.

Notably, Tiger even mentioned that his son improved his game to a great degree by saying, “It is coming,” implying what to expect from Charlie at the PNC Championship in Orlando this week.

Tiger Woods might be the greatest golfer of all time to everyone in the golf community. However, his answer proved that he is indeed an emotional person with nothing but love for his family.
