The former PGA Tour player has shed some light on his decision to join LIV Golf in the Netflix docu-series.
LIV Golf offered Johnson the chance to play less and earn more money. And that’s what convinced him to resign from the PGA Tour. “The decision to join LIV, I mean it finally just came down to the offer that they made me,” he said. “For me it was playing less and making more money.”

He further described his decision as if someone was offered a job doing what they were already doing, but they get more money and are required to give less time than before. He feels only a fool would reject such a nice offer. “Something’s wrong with you if didn’t.”

His decision to play at the LIV Tour came as a shock to many, as only a few months before his resignation in 2022, he had made a statement about his allegiance to the PGA Tour.
Then during a press conference, he said that this decision was made considering what was best for his family.
Johnson crashes below 50
Just ahead of the new season of LIV Golf, the 38-year-old’s world ranking has fallen to 51. He hasn’t been able to score a single ranking point since the 150th Open at St. Andrews.
However, he played well on the LIV Tour, where he won in Boston and finished in top 8 at the rest of the events.

The Saudi backed series has requested the OWGR board to include LIV Players in the ranking as well, but they haven’t heard any response yet.
There was speculation initially that Dustin’s move might have adverse effects on the PGA Tour as it would draw other high-profile golfers away from the Tour. But instead, the disruption caused by his move to LIV Golf has only ended up affecting his career.
