“So Much FOMO”: LPGA Legend Playing Golf With Jimmy Fallon and Former World No. 1 Tennis Star Attracts Attention From Big Names

While professional golfers are busy with the ongoing season, celebrities as well as athletes from other sports are also enjoying the 18-hole sport at the 8AM Golf Invitational. Having been a regular competitor in the LPGA back in the day, the retired golfer Michelle Wie West returned back to the golf course for the amateur event. Though many fans were excited to watch the former golfer competing once again, it was also her teammates and competitors in the event who caught everybody’s attention.

8AM Invitational is an amateur team golf event conducted annually with a field stacked with 28 celebrities. From pop singer Justin Timberlake and late-night show host Jimmy Fallon to NFL stars Travis Kelce and JJ Watt, the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas didn’t fall short in glamour. With some of the biggest names from the entertainment industry present, who did Wie West pose with?

Following her retirement from golf in 2020, it has been hard to witness Wie West play golf. However, she made sure to attend the star-studded golf event in Las Vegas this past weekend. The former LPGA star even shared some of the snaps from the 8AM Invitational on her Instagram handle.

Today was a good day,” she captioned the pictures. Michelle posed with the Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon in the first snap as the LPGA star flaunted a peace sign. In the next picture, Fallon and Wie West posed alongside Rory McIlroy’s ex-fiance and former world number one tennis player Caroline Wozniacki.

The trio was also joined by Wozniacki’s husband and former NBA player David Lee. In the final picture, Michelle Wie West was seen sporting her iconic golf swing pose. Though she may not compete for the grandest silverware in the sport anymore, Wie West still seems to have the same passion for golf.

In the comment section, golf fans had a range of reactions. Some took the humorous approach by asking Wie West, “How’s Jimmy Fallon’s swing?” while another fan wrote, “Trying so hard to be cool.” Another user reacted to Michelle’s swinging pose by commenting, “That swing still so pure.”

Later on, celebs also joined the fans in the comments as the 8AM Investor and partner Justin Timberlake shared hands praise emoji appreciating the 2014 US Women’s Open winner. Tennis star Eugene Bouchard, who did compete last year but missed this year’s 8AM Golf Invitational, shared her distress about missing the tournament.

So much FOMO can’t believe it back year 2,” wrote Bouchard, to which Michelle replied, “I don’t wanna talk about it.” Wozniacki, who posed with the LPGA star in the Instagram post, also shared a witty comment by writing, “No fun was had today.” Though Bryson DeChambeau was busy with LIV Golf Adelaide, he did share his appreciation by liking the post.
