Well, the golfer went ahead and suffered a back injury, leading him to be only able to just chip and putt the golf balls during his practice rounds due to the same. But that was not all; it happened just ahead of the Texas Children’s Houston Open, which will kick off soon.

The 30-year-old later divulged how serious of an injury he was sporting during the time. The three-time PGA Tour winner didn’t shy away from admitting how it may very well lead to a setback in the coming weeks!

Wyndham Clark hopes for a healthy tee-off

“I threw it out. I was in pretty bad shape yesterday,” divulged the American pro as he recounted the injury he suffered in his back. But even so, a proper response from his team, whom he dubs nothing short of “great,” was able to help him. Interestingly, he said, “I have a great team that has gotten me to be able to swing and hit,” before adding, “I did a bunch of rehab and I was able to hit balls today. So just in a short time I’ve improved a ton and I think I’ll be ready for tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, revealing the reason behind the misfortune on the following day, the 1-time major champ disclosed how he “just got caught in an awkward spot doing a lift” at the gym. However, the 2023 U.S. Open champ was quick to express his eagerness to play. “I’m going to give it my best effort tomorrow and hopefully I can play and compete.” he said before adding, “If not, I’ve got to get ready for tournaments to come after this,” while alluding to the upcoming events, including the Masters. It seems he knows when to take a step back.
