On his official YouTube channel, Bryson DeChambeau posted a video captioning, “Can I Break 50 With President Donald Trump?” The unlikely duo was enjoying a game of golf when Trump landed an impressive shot on the green, par-three hole 2, leaving DeChambeau in awe. But what happened next was a classic Trump move: he couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Biden, asking with a grin, “You think Biden can do that? I don’t know. We had an argument about golf. Can you believe it?” Giving us a glimpse into the banter between two very different personalities.

Last month, their golfing rivalry started at CNN’s Atlanta studio when the moderator raised questions about the physical stamina and health of both Trump and Biden, given their age. Former President Trump boasted about his physical and mental prowess, claiming he’s in top shape. He even mocked Biden’s golfing abilities, saying the 81-year-old “can’t hit a ball 50 yards.”

Moreover, the 77-year-old claimed he’s won two club championships, saying, “I just won two club championships, not even senior, two regular club championships. To do that, you have to be quite smart, and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. He doesn’t do it.” Trump’s confidence in his golf game is unmistakable, and he’s clearly relishing the opportunity to take on his presidential successor on the course.

The Presidential Golf Rivalry Stats

Donald Trump and Joe Biden’s golfing rivalry has sparked a lot of interest, with many wondering who would come out on top in a golf match between the two presidents. According to the USGA GHIN App, Trump has a reported handicap index of 2.5, a remarkable achievement, especially considering his age.

Whereas, Biden has also claimed, “I got my handicap when I was vice president down to a six.” He then reiterated, “I was an eight handicap. Eight.” To which Trump added, ”I’ve seen your swing. I know your swing. Let’s not act like children.” He further challenged the president for a driving contest, but Biden turned down the challenge.

However, Biden’s former golf pro at the Wilmington Country Club in Delaware, where Biden is a member, came to his defense. Cooper, a former PGA professional, confirmed that Biden once held a single-digit handicap, contradicting Trump’s doubts. Cooper even went so far as to say, “There’s no doubt [Biden] is slowing down,” but he still favors him over Trump. “I like the president’s chances because I know golf, and I’m not sure about his competitor following all the rules.”
