This support stems from a personal connection: he fondly recalled his grandfather’s Morikawa Restaurant situated in Maui’s Lahaina, a region now deeply affected by the fires.

In a significant gesture of solidarity, Collin Morikawa has pledged on social media to donate $1000 for every birdie he achieves during the course of the 2023 Fedex Cup playoffs, with the intent of assisting the struggling Hawaiian communities.

His supporters couldn’t hold back their emotions, with one saying, “This is so heartbreaking. You’re so kind to make this pledge.” Another added, “Thank you so much! Your efforts to raise awareness mean the world to us here on the island.”
