Hardly a day goes by without Claire Hogle enthralling her hordes of fans with her unique and exciting golf content. In the coming days, the social media celebrity will be teaming up with a 25-year-old pro golfer from Australia.

While the Aussie pro has many accolades to his name, one of his most memorable moments came way back in 2016 when he was involved in a bizarre feud with none other than Phil Mickelson. So, what went down between the golfers? What does Hogle have planned for her followers? Let’s find out!

Despite being just 23 years of age, Hogle has already amassed a huge following across various social media platforms. She boasts over 850k followers on Instagram, where she regularly captivates her fans with golfing tips, sensational photos, and videos, among other things.

She is also a bonafide YouTube star with 123k subscribers on the platform. The internet sensation, who has been dubbed by many as the rival of Paige Spiranac, often partners up with other golfing influencers and even players for her YouTube videos. But, this time around, Hogle will be teeing it off with pro-golfer Ryan Ruffels. “youtube vid w professional golfer @ryan_ruffels coming soon,” she wrote in her Instagram story.

Before going pro, Ruffels was once ranked 13th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. One of his career highlights came in 2016 when the Australian made his professional debut at the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. It was during that appearance at California’s Torrey Pines South Course that the unfortunate incident with Mickelson occurred.

The 6-time major winner, who had also appeared at the event, accused the then-17-year-old Ruffels of “high school stuff.” The LIV pro’s words greatly overshadowed the Aussie’s debut appearance on the Tour.

Ryan Ruffels’ PGA Tour debut in 2016 was a tumultuous one, all due to him getting a telling-off from Mickelson. The latter’s irate reaction came after Ruffels recounted his meeting with Mickelson to an Australian news outlet ahead of the event. The meeting involved the golfers playing a friendly practice round on the golf course, during which the 52-year-old had made quite an offer.

Reportedly, Mickelson had offered to pay the youngster a whopping $5,000 if the latter won. But, if he lost, Ruffels would pay $2,500 after turning professional. But, the Australian allegedly won, taking home the huge sum. However, the LIV pro had rubbished claims about the wager amount during the event in Torrey Pines, saying that the young golfer still had a lot of things to learn. “You don’t discuss specifics of what you play for. And you certainly don’t embellish and create a false amount just for your own benefit,”  Mickelson had said
