For most golf fans, anything related to Tiger Woods is noteworthy. While not every connection is important, any mention of the living legend is always exciting. Recently, fans have spotted a Tiger Woods-NFL connection, which remains extremely unexpected.

According to a recent social media post, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel wore Tiger Woods’ red mock neck t-shirt.

Of course, when it comes to Woods, a simple photo is never enough.

How are Tiger Woods and NFL’s Deebo Samuel connected?

In a recent photo shared, it is clear that Samuel chose to wear Woods’ significant tee. When asked on Instagram, the 26-year-old confirmed that it was indeed Woods’ t-shirt. “I liked the turtle neck and it had his name on it,” Samuel told GOLF.com on Instagram. “He the GOAT.”

Irrespective of one’s favorite, Woods is arguably the greatest player of all time. Samuel seems to agree with this notion, only promoting Woods and his brand.

However, there is another connection between the two athletes that few might expect. As per reports, both Woods and Samuel seem to be signed with Excel Sports Management. The Tiger Woods Foundation seems to be linked with Excel Sports Management, while Samuel seems to have signed with them for increased off-field income.

Either way, it makes Samuel wearing Woods’ jersey slightly more likely.

Furthermore, it is always exciting when two athletes from two different sports are connected in the most unique of ways. This Samuel-Woods situation is no different.

Why does Woods wear a red t-shirt?

Additionally, Woods’ red t-shirt is as well known as the 46-year-old PGA Tour star himself. It is a part of the 15-time major winner’s on-course style and has become synonymous with his name over the years. “I wear red on Sundays because my mom thinks that is my power color,” Woods said about his clothes, adding that one should always listen to their mothers.

Woods – who was sidelined for months after his car crash – finally made his return to the course with his son Charlie. They played and came in second at the PNC Championship, anyone who follows golf is beyond happy. However, despite his successful return, there might not be many PGA Tour events lined up for Woods any time soon.

Though nothing is confirmed, Woods will apparently like to play at the Open Championship in July.
