According to Mickelson, 45-year-old Tom Brady is quite an example of fitness and keeping his life together. The LIV member greatly respects the NFL player and what he has done with his life on and off-field. Last year, Mickelson expressed his genuine feelings about Brady in a YouTube video and revealed what he learned from him.
Why was Phil Mickelson impressed by Tom Brady?
Talking to American sports analyst Pat McAfee on his show, Phil Mickelson revealed how he wants to learn a few things and how NFL player Tom Brady inspires him. They discussed the excellent players in the sports world and how one can learn from them.
Mickelson was entirely mesmerized by how Tom Brady was able to re-engage with his family after he got away from the sport. He appreciated the idea of Brady focusing all his energy on his family after the game and keeping other activities balanced. He said, “seeing the way he keeps everything in balance and checks, so when he is playing football and studying film, he is fully present. His mind is cognizant.”

The former PGA tour member wished he had the same knowledge as now; during his younger days, things would be different. The NFL player knows things well and how to balance his personal and professional life and his health. Brady works out and eats right, keeping himself fit. As a result, Mickelson was charmed by him, saying that the fitness information was unavailable then, however, Brady has it. “The fact is, we just didn’t have that knowledge; we just didn’t have the information; it wasn’t out there.”

What has Mickelson learned from Brady?
Mickelson loves how Brady was always able to detach himself from one place and only be available in the present. His idea of living life in the present is what Mickelson learned from him. However, it has also helped him in every aspect of his life. Mickelson said, “the way he is able to be fully present in whatever he’s doing is what I’m really getting out of it, and it’s helped me in other areas of my life.”

Whenever Brady was at the golf course, he was funny. He used to hang out with other golfers. Therefore, he was great at letting off things that did not matter to him at that moment. And Mickelson admires such qualities in the NFL legend.
