Retired NFL Quarterback’s unique reason to love golf

Sean Salisbury may currently be known as a notable NFL broadcaster. However, he did spend nearly a decade playing as a quarterback for teams like Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers, and Seattle Seahawks, to name a few.

Nonetheless, apart from his newfound career as a broadcaster after retirement, Salisbury also spends a decent amount of time playing golf. However, his love for the sport didn’t blossom like it usually does for others. He talked about his admiration for golf during his recent visit to the SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.

I became enamored with golf courses”, said Sean Salisbury, while sharing why he fell in love with the sport. “Even though I’m not an architect, I look at, what a great gift to be an architect or golf course designer”. He also discussed how he was a ‘late bloomer’ to the sport. Salisbury shared the details of his childhood when he didn’t have access to play the eighteen-hole sport.

He first played the sport during his college days and eventually began playing more often. The broadcaster also joked by saying, “The golf courses are far better than be it the player”. In the end, the former NFL quarterback further discussed the beauty of the courses. “I’m intrigued with the beauty of golf course, and I’ve learned to enjoy it more even when I’m playing poorly which usually is most of the times. But I love it”.

Undoubtedly, the peace and beauty of a golf course can rarely be found elsewhere. Moreover, to get to play your favorite sport in a beautiful location only adds more joy to one’s day. Though Sean Salisbury’s reason for falling in love with golf may be unique, it sure is quite meaningful.
