This time, it was Brooks Koepka’s outfit that caught people’s attention. The reactions fans had were mixed, some loving the turtleneck he donned. Others seemed to throw shade, not fond of the new style, which also highlighted Drake and his new album in a way.

Koepka played the first round wearing a short-sleeved black turtleneck — which also drew comparisons to Tiger Woods, currently sidelined after his accident in February.

Brooks Koepka draws attention with his Tour Championship outfit

The shirt Koepka wore is actually a collaboration with Drake and his Nike sub-label called NOCTA – which will be releasing this month.

Drake himself shared a picture of Koepka in the turtleneck, announcing NOCTA golf in September, adding a lot of praying emojis in the story. The Canadian rapper dropped his new album Certified Lover Boy overnight, Koepka’s turtleneck also working as a shoutout for Drake. Fans who support both personalities were happy over the slight overlap, especially after Drake’s story.

On the other hand,  Koepka’s look wasn’t identical to Woods’, who made his red turtleneck iconic, it was similar with the white Nike cap completing the look. Woods’ look is a pleasant and treasured memory to most fans, always reminding them of the icon.

Naturally, fans had varied reactions. Some were extremely happy with the similarities, hoping that Koepka would go on to win. On the other side, people just believed the ensemble was wrong, not happy with how it resembled Woods’ outfit. Certain fans also brought up Bryson DeChambeau, indicating that maybe the latter has maybe won their feud.

Interestingly, Koepka is not the only player on the course that turned heads for his appearance. Dustin Johnson showed up without his beard, completely clean-shaven. His appearance ended up baffling most fans, many couldn’t even recognize the defending champion. The reactions were somewhat dramatic, some wondering if the change will bring DJ some good luck.

Apart from Koepka, Patrick Cantlay, Jon Rahm, DeChambeau and a few others are frontrunners to win the Tour Championship this year. Cantlay and Rahm are in the lead as of now, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau tied at third. However, the course remains unpredictable, with impressive performances coming from the likes of Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland.
