Everyone in the golf world is excited about Ryder Cup 2020 that is taking place at the Whistling Straits. While fans discuss and debate on social media, players are trying to boost morale and motivate in their own feel-good way. This includes Ryder Cup veteran Ian Poulter – who seems to be looking for a boy band name for the European team.

Poulter’s idea was a hit, everyone on Twitter coming up with unique band names for the players. Poulter, 45, was picked by European Captain Padraig Harrington.

What kind of names is Ian Poulter looking for the European Ryder Cup team?

In a picture shared by Poulter, he is posing with five of his Ryder Cup 2020 teammates in front of the team logo. Lee Westwood, Paul Casey, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, and Tyrrell Hatton are in the photograph, along with which Poulter is seeking some boy band names. “Boy Band Names…must be golf related,” he wrote, asking everyone to do their best as he tagged Ryder Cup Europe and the players in the photo.

Poulter is a trusted Ryder Cup veteran, having played six and won five with Team Europe. He is known to have troubled the other team most times and is looking forward to doing the same this time around.

“I’m sure I’ve annoyed plenty,” Poulter said. “I mean, my percentage has been really nice, for me, and not for the guys I’ve played against, so I’m sure that’s been pretty frustrating to be on the receiving end of that”.

Poulter has an overall 14-6-2 record and is yet to lose a singles match at the event. He is also the second oldest who will be on the course at Ryder cup 2020, the oldest being Lee Westwood, who is 48 years old. Harrington, who has chosen his team of experienced and the world’s best, has confidence in all of his players.
