It has been almost two months since Michelle Wie West hung her clubs for the last time and retired from professional golf. Ever since her retirement, the LPGA star has been very active on social media and has been sharing various kinds of updates with her fans. The former pro golfer’s fans are loving it.

After retirement, everyone plans on exploring their other areas of interest. And Wie West is no different. After two long decades and various accolades to her name in the golf world, she now wants to try her hands on a different sport. She wishes to share a stage with a legendary family member of Serena Williams. She recently shed some light on her desire, channeling her inner excited child. If you think we are talking about tennis, you are in for a surprise.

West has been supporting other sports as much as she loves supporting golf, and young golfers. The golfer went to witness the live action of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and also tried her hands in an athletic game of tennis. 

But playing tennis wasn’t just enough for the maiden major champion. She wanted some more time on the court, and to her rescue, comes Pickleball. She recently shared an Instagram story where 2023 Wimbledon champ, Carlos Alcaraz, was playing a game of pickleball with tennis legend Venus Williams. They were playing in a closed arena in New York. 

Charmed by the game and Williams’ aura, West could not contain her excitement and popped a question to her. In her Instagram story, she excitedly wrote, “OMG CAN WE PLAYYYYYYYYYY SOMETIME?? @venuswilliams”

West has been a huge advocate for women in sports. Her wanting to play a game with Venus Williams is just one of the many examples of her supporting women’s power in the sports fraternity.

This was not the first time the LPGA trailblazer addressed the Williams family. She did so recently as well, and to everyone’s amazement, got recognized for court skills. Let us reminisce about a not-so-old interaction she had with the Williams family member, days after her retirement.

Trailblazer LPGA phenom and her love for the court 

Just after her official retirement from golf, the 33-year-old showcased her tennis skills on the court. In fact, Serena Williams’ husband approved of her tennis skills. West shared a story on her Instagram back then, sharing glimpses of her game. Alexis Ohanian gave a nod of approval to the former golfer.

He also expressed that he and his wife, the tennis legend Serena Williams, could use her help in their LA team in TGL. The offer was indeed a lucrative one for Michelle Wie West. In response to the offer, West said to the Reddit founder, “I got you.” It will indeed be exciting to see Venus and West come together to play a game, either tennis or pickleball. Let us wait and hope that it happens soon!
