His love relationships haven’t really survived after the 2009 scandal. It has even piqued the interest of the fans of golf, and have been the front-page news headline. But what went wrong between Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods that led to their separation? The pair parted ways almost three years into their relationship. The news became official through a Facebook post by Lindsey.

Why Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn called it quits

Woods and Vonn started dating each other a year after the whole infidelity fiasco. But three years into the relationship, they could not manage their personal lives with their peaking professional careers. To make the announcement regarding their breakup, According to an article by Bleacher Report, Vonn wrote a post on social media that read, “After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.”

She clarified that it was just a matter of timing, because of which they will have to part ways. Tiger Woods himself released a personal message which read, “Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating. I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together.” Both Woods and Vonn showed admiration for one another. The two handled the affair with utmost sophistication and mutual respect in front of the media.

The news broke as nothing short of a blast in the whole of golf fraternity. Vonn and Tiger’s kids used to pay him visits on the golf course. Everything seemed so picture-perfect in their lives. She was there to support Woods during the par-3 contest at Augusta National prior to the Masters, just a month before announcing their breakup. So, yes it came as a shock to all of their fans. Both the athletes were in a race to be better at their respective sports; maybe that is what took a toll on their relationship.

Tiger and Lindsey back to being friends after their breakup

The American Alpine ski racer in an exclusive interview with ET in January 2022 said, “We are friends and, of course, I’m happy that he is back and healthy.”  This was the first time she opened up after Tiger was hit by a disastrous car crash of 2021. The Alpine ski racer said, “It was a tough time for him. “It’s good to know that even after parting ways, they still have the same respect for one another. Fans of both Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn were really happy to see them back as friends.

Tiger and Lindsey are both happy in their own lives, and it has been a long time since they moved on from their breakup. They are still close and have a great deal of respect for one another. We hope they continue to stay friends and uphold the integrity and respect that they have shown to date.
