Roger Federer spoke about his personal life, during his recent interview with the TIME magazine. The Swiss maestro, who is currently enjoying his time away from tennis, was recently included in the top hundred influential people in the world. Federer has two daughters (Myla Rose and Charlene Riva) who are twins and two sons (Leo and Lenny). It is yet to be seen if they are any good at tennis, however, they have been spotted on many occasions, watching Federer’s matches.

Federer admits that despite his prowess and dominance on the tennis court, he is still learning his lessons in parenthood. ‘I am very competitive on the tennis court but away from it I am not that competitive, to be honest,’ said Federer. He also admitted that he is very tolerant, when it comes to parenting his children. ‘I’m very laid-back and it makes me a good father, a good husband.’ He also added,‘Being a dad is a challenge in itself. You always have to figure things out, trying to anticipate, organize and at the end of the day it all gets thrown out of the window and you’re just trying to figure it out again.’

Federer also added that his children have inherited his competitive nature, and that it has been pleasing to watch them get agitated when they do not get what they want. ‘There is still a lot that I have to teach them, and they also do get frustrated and sad when they lose and I was exactly the same, so I’m happy that I guess they are a little bit like me’, he said.

Federer, who is currently sitting in the second spot of the ATP singles rankings, is unlikely to drop his ranking, despite him skipping the clay court season. He is expected to make his next appearance at Halle next month.
