Greg Hardy has managed to become one of the most hated athletes in the UFC roaster with only three UFC fights in his MMA career. The Ex- NFL athlete, Greg Hardy started his MMA career only a year ago in 2018 and has a record of 5 wins and one disqualification loss in his career.

Greg Hardy took on Ben Sosoli in a heavyweight fight on the main card of UFC Boston. Although Hardy won the fight quite easily, he is once again the center of controversy for something he did after round number two.

Hardy was clearly exhausted and was having a hard time to breathe properly after two rounds with Sosoli. This was the longest fight in Hardy’s MMA career as all of his fights were finished within two rounds.

Hardy turned to his corner and ask his coaching staff whether he could use an inhaler to control his breathing. To everyone’s surprise, his coach had no issues with Hardy’s demand as he handed him the inhaler. Hardy or his teammate seemingly did not consult any officials before making this move.

Former UFC two-division champion, Daniel Cormier and former bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz were shocked and speechless after this move from Hardy as they believe the use of an inhaler during the fight is illegal and the fight should be a no-contest or Hardy should be disqualified.

The entire panel of analysts, Daniel Cormier, Dominick Cruz, and Jon Anik agreed that the use of an inhaler was an illegal and immature move from Greg Hardy and he should be disqualified. However, the fight was not stopped and Hardy won the fight via judges’ decision.

Although it is still not clear whether any actions would be taken from the fight commission on this move of Greg Hardy during the fight, it can be concluded that the use of an inhaler did impact the fight in UFC Boston. If an athlete is having trouble with his cardio during the fight, providing him or her an inhaler to help him with the cardio does put the opponent at a disadvantage.

At the moment, Greg hardy has won the fight and we will have to wait to see whether the commission makes any statement on this action.
