Greg Hardy fought Ben Sosoli on the main card of UFC Boston and this fight is the talk of the town right now for all the wrong reasons. During the break between second round and the third round, Greg Hardy asked him teammates whether he could use the inhaler. To everyone’s surprise, Hardy’s coaching staff handed him the inhaler after an Inspector allowed them to do so.
However, reportedly, that inspector had no authority to do so. While competing at the highest level, mistakes like these seem immature, to say the least. Greg Hardy fought the longest he has fought in his MMA career tonight against Australian fighter, Ben Sosoli. After the second round Hardy was clearly exhausted and was struggling to control his breathing and hence he asked for an inhaler, which is illegal and can not be done during a fight.
Though the officials did not intervene during the fight at the moment this incident happened, a hour after the fight it’s official that the fight between Greg Hardy and Ben Sosoli is now a no-contest.

Former UFC champion, Daniel Cormier and Dominick Cruz protested the move right away and asked for the fight to be finished with a no-contest. Dominick Cruz who was asked to cut his straps on the leg while fighting in Boston was shocked with the commission that did not took an immediate action with Greg Hardy’s illegal move.
As per the Executive Director of Nevada Athletic Association, Marc Ratner, the commission never approved the use of the inhaler. An inspector said it was OK and he did not have the authority to do so.
With this fight’s result, Greg Hardy has now one no-contest and one disqualification in a very short span of his MMA career. Hardy’s debut UFC fight also ended in a no-contest due to an illegal knee from Hardy.
