Seven-time Olympic medalist, Simone Biles, is currently on the road for her Gold Over America tour. Top American women gymnasts are also accompanying the young sensation as they travel across 35 cities around the country. The tour officially started on the 21st of September, 2021.
Simone Biles revealed the tour is more than just an entertainment show
At Tokyo Olympics 2020, Simone went through one of the toughest phases of her career so far. Despite being at the most prestigious stage, she had to take the daring step of withdrawing right before the final unfolded. However, her brave move is now an example for athletes around the world to prioritize their mental health over success.
Now, moving on from the Olympics, Simone has set off on her gymnastics tour. Interestingly, the tour is an all-female cast tour only. Simone and her team made their first stop at Tucson, Arizona, on Tuesday. In conversation with Los Angeles Times, Simone opened up about her goal from the tour.

Simone said, “There’s a lot of entertainment, but I think we want to put some realness, some authenticity into it, some rawness, to know that we’re still human and we’re here to help everybody out there. But also for everybody in the audience to walk away feeling like they have a piece of gold in them. I think that’s really unique.”

Different segments inspired by feelings
Simone also revealed that they will perform segments inspired by how athletes feel during matches. Notably, one of the segments on schedule is based on the “overwhelmed” feeling of being in the spotlight at the center stage.
The segment will take the audience through a journey, detailing the mental challenges athletes face in their quest for glory. Katelyn Ohashi, a gymnast who has faced a lot of bumps in her life because of injuries, will perform this segment.
