The professional dancer was born Alexander Farber on May 9, 1984. While Moscow is his birthplace, Farber started dancing since he was 13 years old after moving to Australia. At 17 years old, he won the Australian Latin Championships twice, and took part in the World Latin Championships.

The 37-year-old first featured on the American version of Dancing With the Stars as a troupe member in Season 13. During a broadcast in Season 16, Farber proposed to fellow dancer Emma Slater on the show. They got married in 2018, and ultimately became professional dancers on the show.

In season 17, he became a professional dancer on the show and teamed up with Nicole Polizzi, better known to many as Snooki. The pair finished that season in eighth place amongst 12 couples. He made his next appearance as a dance partner on the show after four seasons, teaming up with Kim Fields in season 22. The pair finished in seventh place.

After this, he appeared on the show as a dance partner in six different seasons of the show. However, he’s yet to win the show. His best finish in the show came in the 26th season, where he finished third with former American figure skater Tonya Harding. However, his wife Slater won Season 24 of the show alongside former NFL running back Rashad Jennings.

Farber paired with three of seven American gymnasts to appear on Dancing With the Stars

Since 2005, the dance television show has seen seven Olympic gymnasts take part, with Lee being the latest addition. Prior to the 18-year-old, Farber paired with Mary Lou Retton in the show’s 27th season. They finished in ninth place amongst 13 couples that year.

He also partnered Simone Biles, who many consider as one of the best gymnasts in today’s time. The pair appeared amongst 12 couples in the 24th season of the show, where they finished 4th.

Lee is Farber’s third Olympic gymnast partner on Dancing With the Stars this season. The pair recorded a score of 28 in their first performance on the show, which began on September 20. Earlier today, the 18-year-old shared a tweet thanking Farber for her support on the show.
