Former World No. 1 Andy Murray is probably the best tennis player Great Britain has ever produced. For a long time, Wimbledon had not seen a homegrown talent win the championship. It took 77 years to repeat the heroics of Fred Perry. Tim Henman had made it to the semi-final on four occasions at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Finally, in 2013, Andy won British hearts by winning Wimbledon.

Murray has made it to the finals of all four majors, and he won at the US Open and Wimbledon. Having made it to the finals of the Australian Open on five occasions, Andy must certainly have some regret of not going the distance on any one of those opportunities. The former Wimbledon champion has had constant troubles with his hip, and that has forced him to take regular breaks on tour.

Murray remains optimistic and is eager to get back to his winning ways. Recently, he said, “I haven’t forgotten how to play tennis. I’ve seen enough in the limited amount I have played in the last year – basically from Asia through until Antwerp last year – and then the matches I played over in New York.”

The 3-time Grand Slam winner knows exactly what it takes to repeat those performances. If he works on getting back in good shape and feels physically fit, he can compete at the highest level. Highlighting this aspect, Murray further added, “I know I will perform and win big matches if I can get properly fit and healthy for an extended period of time. And that’s why I’m doing the work just now to try and avoid having any issues next year.”

Murray won his first-ever Slam at the US Open in 2012. He has won Wimbledon twice in 2013 and 2016 and has won two gold medals at the Olympic Games in 2012 and 2016. He has even won the ATP Finals in 2016.
