This has now happened so often that fans have come up with a nickname for the whole phenomenon ‘The Drake Curse”.

Moreover, it seems that YouTube sensation Jake Paul might just be the latest victim of this “curse” as the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker has backed him to win in his upcoming matchup against Tommy Fury. The two rivals will finally meet on February 26th in Saudi Arabia ready to settle the bad blood with their two previous fights being called off. This will also be an interesting boxing match with both fighters coming in with undefeated professional records. In addition, Drake has placed a $400,000 bet on Paul to win the whole fight.

Drake picks his fighter with a hefty bet

The rapper posted a picture of the bet which revealed that he has placed a bet of $400,000. Moreover, the estimated payout of the bet was also revealed which came to $1.4 million if Paul wins via KO.

TalkSport journalist Michael Benson shared the post on his social media handle and the screenshot sent shockwaves through the boxing world. The fans were also quick to jump on and react to this outrageous bet by the 36-year-old singer.

A user named Don Povia claimed that the rapper was unaware of the reality of the event also suggesting that the fight might be fixed.

Another user named Oven was sure that Paul would become the latest victim of the “Drake curse”.

However, a user named Shivam backed Drake claiming he would get $1.4 million after this fight.

The fans were certainly astounded by this high-stakes bet by Drake. However, they were not too sure that he made the right choice in picking Paul. Despite this, the rapper might not be too worried even if he loses this bet. Moreover, the reactions from the fans only prove that this fight is not a one-sided affair like many of both fighters’ previous bouts as they look to rise up the ranks of professional boxing.
