” Spain is facing the greatest challenge in its recent history. Rebuilding a country that the pandemic has left socially and politically fragmented and in a difficult economic situation: 150,000 companies have gone bankrupt, one million more people are unemployed. We need the brightest minds in the country to get out of the jam.”
There are probably many other people in Spain who could do this job so why is Manuel choosing Rafael Nadal? He went on to explain why and said,

“Rafael Nadal would promote the image of Spain in the world like no one else. His humility as a person and his greatness as an athlete makes him a luxury ambassador for the country. But of course, Nadal would have to continue giving us the joy of winning several more Grand Slams.”

Manuel is certainly right, Rafa will continue winning Grand Slams. And especially now since Rafa is so close to beating Roger Federer’s all-time record for the most Majors.
Rafa currently has 19 which is one short of Roger’s 20. He will definitely want to beat this record as it will finally put an end to the long-standing debate about the greatest tennis player of all time. And he is probably training extremely hard to do that.

His next opportunity to do this is only going to come in August when the ATP Tour returns from its suspension. And many will be hoping that he will finally seal his position as the GOAT of tennis.
