Henry Cejudo is the bantamweight champion, flyweight champion, and he is the Olympic Gold medalist. Hence Henry Cejudo was called Triple C. Well, he just lost the CCC title as he is no longer the UFC flyweight champion.

ESPN’s Airel Helwani recently took it to  twitter and stated:

“Henry Cejudo is no longer the UFC 125 champ. After it became clear he could not defend the title soon, UFC will move on from and has booked Benavidez vs. Figueiredo for the vacant title on Feb. 29. Cejudo is relinquishing the title, per sources. @MikeBohnMMA first reported. Correction: @ColeShelton91 first reported the news.”

This move makes perfect sense for both Henry Cejudo and the flyweight division. He did save the division from being cut from UFC by beating TJ Dillashaw who was coming for the flyweight title. However, Cejudo sees himself competing at the bantamweight division in the future.

Ever since Cejudo became the bantamweight champion Cejudo has been calling out bantamweights such as Dominick Cruz, Urijah Faber, and Jose Aldo. And it’s safe to say Cejudo has more exciting fights at the bantamweight division compared to flyweight. Besides that, the weight cut for 125  lbs is tough on Cejudo.

For the vacant flyweight title, ranked number 1 flyweight, Joseph Benavidez and ranked no 3, Deiveson Figueiredo will face each other on February 29th on ESPN card.

As far as Henry Cejudo is concerned he has some huge fights for him at the bantamweight division. After the impressive bantamweight debut, Jose Aldo is a huge fight for Cejudo. If Dominick Cruz makes a return to the octagon then that will be an intriguing fight for the Olympic gold medalist. Moreover, Cejudo is even eyeing on the featherweight title after Alexander Volkanovski won the title from Max Holloway. It would be intriguing to see where does Henry Cejudo goes next after relinquishing the flyweight title.
