Among his friends is none other than Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex. The two met when the Prince came to attend the wedding of a mutual friend in Jamaica. In a throwback interview, Bolt revealed his thoughts on Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

Bolt gives the royal couple his stamp of approval

Bolt first met the couple when they flew to Jamaica to attend the wedding of Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip. Bolt was also present at the same wedding.

He had met Prince Harry before, also in Jamaica. During the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Prince Harry was in Jamaica, where they both became friends. The two even raced each other!

The 8-time Olympic medallist gave the royal couple his stamp of approval. Moreover, he was happy for the couple. According to him, Prince Harry has always been the wild one, and it is good to see him happy.

“I think everybody is happy because he’s always the wild one of the Royal Family, but he’s really cool,” said Usain Bolt.

However, Bolt was disappointed he couldn’t party with the Prince. Additionally, the legend has a good impression of Markle. “I’m sorry I didn’t get to party with him before. She’s definitely a nice girl,” he added.

During his visit to Jamaica, Prince Harry had raced the Olympic champion to a race where he emerged as the winner, to everyone’s surprise.

This happened back in 2012 when the Prince visited Jamaica to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. It was in the West Indies stadium that Prince Harry raced with the fastest man in the world and emerged victorious!

Sprinting down the track after a false start, Prince Harry crossed the finishing line while Bolt came behind him laughing. Usain Bolt demanded a re-run of the race, to which the Prince replied by saying he was busy.

Bolt had some good things to say about the Prince, The legend thinks that the Prince is quite cool considering he comes from a royal family.

“He’s cool, very down to earth. When you meet dignitaries you think it will be difficult but he just wanted to laugh – it was an honor and a pleasure to meet him,” said Bolt.

After the race, Bolt mentioned that he is still the world’s fastest man, and the Prince has a long way to go before he beats him.
