Nebraska High School Football doesn’t just talk the talk—it walks the walk, spikes the ball, and lets everyone know who’s boss. In a state where Friday night lights burn brighter than anywhere else, the 2024 NEBPreps Football Awards served as a bold reminder that the Cornhusker State isn’t just playing football; it’s perfecting an art form.

Mike Sautter of Hurrdat Sports kicked off the night by highlighting the values Nebraska football embodies: grit, talent, and unwavering community support. He took to X to congratulate all the winners, “A great night of Celebrating the Story Differently”, the analyst captioned. To which the admin of the Nebraska HS football page didn’t take too long to flex, re-shared the post, “Congrats to all of the NebPreps award winners this evening. NebPreps is the best in the world at covering high school sports and it’s not even close. We could not be more lucky. Nobody does it better. #nebpreps.”

“This event is a way for us to recognize the dedication of the players, coaches, and families who make Nebraska high school football so special,” Mike Sautter said of the ceremony. Covering all seven classes, NEBPreps ensured athletes from every nook of the state—whether small-town stars or big-city legends—had their time in the limelight. Whether or not you agree with the self-congratulatory tone, it’s hard to argue when Braska athletes swept most of the awards. This wasn’t just a celebration; it was a coronation.

The awards indicate the players who went above and beyond, with standout performances from each class. Players who don’t just fill stat sheets but lead their teams to victory and inspire their communities. The event underscored Nebraska’s knack for turning out high-caliber talent year after year. From gritty linebackers in Class D to dual-threat quarterbacks in Class A, the night was a showcase of just how deep Nebraska’s football roots run.

But what makes Nebraska’s approach unique isn’t just the talent—it’s the storytelling. The NEBPreps platform is celebrated for how it “covers the story differently,” as Sautter said. By spotlighting athletes from rural schools alongside those from powerhouse programs, NEBPreps captures the heart of Nebraska football: a sport that’s as much about community pride as it is about X’s and O’s. But what’s so special about this Cornhuskers state’s HS football?
