The competition to secure the desired player is intensifying as the transfer portal deadline approaches. This is particularly evident in the case of Edna Karr’s highly regarded defensive lineman, Jahkeem Stewart, who is being pursued by both Brian Kelly and Ryan Day’s teams. Surprisingly, it appears that the recent commitment of a player to Ohio State has sparked a rivalry between these two programs. This turn of events was unexpected, to say the least.
Today North Shore High School’s five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez took to his Instagram account to share an ambiguous statement on Jahkeem Stewart’s commitment, saying, “Make da move”. Devin kept a story post shared by Recruit Access in which they listed two five-star players who have still not committed to any program. Which one name was Justus Terry and the other one was Jahkeem. This made it all very suspicious, as LSU Tigers Brian Kelly was already trying hard to get Stewart into the team.

However, it looks like it’s going to be a tough battle between the two teams. Jahkeem Stewart already has some fondness towards Ryan Day’s Ohio State after his visit to the university in June. After which Stewart expressed his satisfaction over the program, saying, “I feel like I could fit perfectly in the defense.” But again, until he gives any commitment to either of the teams, it’s hard to predict which program actually has an edge over the other.
However, the reason behind Jehkeem Stewart’s increasing demand is his remarkable performance at St. Augustine High School’s MaxPreps sophomore all-American program. During this campaign, Jahkeem completed 85 tackles, 33 TFL, and 20 sacks. Which shows his excellence on the field. But with recent turns of events, it looks like while two teams fight for Jahkeem, the third may be the one that prospers.

Jahkeem Stewart appreciating Oregon
Jahkeem Stewart, being the top uncommitted defensive lineman for the class of 2025, is not leaving any chance to observe his desired team. Since the start of the season, he has been visiting various programs to understand their game dynamics. Similarly, a few weeks ago, Jahkeem visited the Oregon vs. Ohio State game at the Autzen Stadium. Well, the game didn’t end on a happy note for Ohio State as they lost with a 1-point margin against the Ducks, and adding fuel to fire their game also caught Jahkeem’s attention as he revealed his fondness towards Dan Lanning and his team after the game.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Jahkeem Stewart's decision redefine the power dynamics between Ohio State and LSU?
Have an interesting take?
Oregon’s performance in the game quite amazed the young prodigy. As confirmed by On3’s host Steve Wiltfong, “He has called Dan Lanning a ‘defensive genius.’ He got to come out to Autzen Stadium and soak in that atmosphere.” Well, looking at Oregon’s nine consecutive wins in the season, the praise doesn’t seem to be coming from out of the blue. Steve also mentioned that the Ducks left a big impact on Jahkeem Stewart’s mind, and they have a chance to get him onboard, saying, “He said he saw everything he needed to see… I think coming out of this visit, Oregon has a great chance to land Jahkeem Stewart.” Who doesn’t want to be a part of an undefeated team? Unfortunately, it doesn’t bode well for Ryan Day or Brian Kelly. Let’s see if any of team are able to gain Jahkeem’s commitment in the coming days or not!
