Is Lincoln Riley going to lose his 2025 class crown jewel? We all know that the entire CFB world has been on a JUJU fever high for a long time now. And rightfully so. Coming from Carrollton, Julian Lewis is one of the prodigies every roster would want. Dude is standing on a 5-star rating and managed to go 11-2 as a starter for Carrollton. Right now, the Trojans have full command over Julian Lewis, but it feels like things could change any minute.

Deion Sanders has managed to create history with the Buffs. Standing on 6-2 after the massive game against the Bearcats, Coach Prime and Co. are THE ultimate thing in college football. Throughout the entire game, the Buffs never trailed Cincinnati. The Bearcats ain’t an ordinary team. They, too, went into this game with a 5-2 record and a back-to-back 2-win run. So, color us surprised when we found out that Julian Lewis was there on the sideline watching the dominating game. Corey Simms, another USC commit, posted some mysterious words under the comment section of Rivals’ latest post. “Chill bro, just chill,” Simms mentioned.

Rivals had taken to Instagram to share a snap of Lewis with 4-star OT Carde Smith watching the Buffs game. “Colorado is DOMINATING right now with USC commits 5 QB Julian Lewis and 4 OT Carde Smith in the house,” Rivals mentioned in their post. Can Coach Prime and the Buffs 2024 run manage to flip Lewis to them?

This Juju flip situation has been going on since August. Way back on The Inside Scoop, Philip Dukes had mentioned that Deion Sanders had a lot of chance of grabbing Lewis for his 2025 dream roster. “If I had to make a bet right now, I think Colorado has a lot of momentum,” Dukes had mentioned.

Lewis will be perfect for Coach Prime because after the 2024 season is over, the NFL draft is going to take away Shedeur Sanders. Now Deion needs his star QB, and Lewis, with his 66% completion rate and a 140 QB rating, is the perfect pick. But, as always, there are some problems.

Rank drop for Juju

Back on 2Legendary, Shedeur Sanders pointed out a very important issue that has been going around regarding Lewis’ ranking. “How did they drop you to a four-star, though?” Shedeur had mentioned. See, previously, Lewis was ranked as a 5-star all across the board. However, it switched.

When? After he made his intentions clear that he would like to be with the Buffs. The “CU Effect” some fans call it. Deion Sanders, back on July 11th, had mentioned, “To whom it may concern, if you desire to come play for us @CUBuffsFootball they may drop your HS rankings.” And this has been a very common phenomenon.

For Lewis, when he had asked regarding the change in his ratings, he was told that it was done to balance him out, which makes zero sense. The kid is only 17. He is yet to reach his peak, so why is balancing even needed? Now coming back to the “common phenomenon” statement.

Do you know the leading star of Colorado football? The golden child, Travis Hunter. Yeah, he had faced the same issue. With the No.1 overall player nationally and a composite rating of 99.56, Hunter was all set to go and dominate for the Buffs. However, the moment his commitment was declared, he was dropped to No.8 nationally. For now, we don’t know if Lewis will flip to CU, but if he does, then Deion Sanders is going to get quite the monster to play with.
