Unfortunately, as soon as IOI went live with the game, many players faced difficulties getting into their accounts. However, the studio ensured everyone will get a chance to experience the end of Agent 47’s storyline.

While IO makes sure everyone gets to play the game, it also has a neat little trick up its sleeve. The studio is currently working on a way for players to import their progression from Hitman 2 to the new game. Therefore, players could carry over a lot of content that they worked hard to unlock in the previous title.

What does the Hitman 3 progress transfer mean for players?

While there are no details on how the transfer will work, we do know a few things. First, the transfer only works on similar platforms. Therefore, console players can transfer from Steam to the Epic Store but not consoles or cloud gaming platforms.

Second, the transfer starts the game afresh. Therefore, if players start the game before transferring progress, the transfer can erase the existing data.

The transfer to Hitman 3 includes the following content:

  1. Player profile
  2. XP rank
  3. Location mastery levels
  4. Location mastery unlocks
  5. Challenge progress
  6. Challenge unlocks
  7. Elusive Target suits/unlocks
  8. Legacy achievements tied to the first two games

In order for players to transfer the content successfully, they would need an IO Interactive account. Moreover, progress from Hitman will not directly transfer to Hitman 3. Therefore, players can use this as a chance to go through a nostalgic trip through the Hitman franchise.

Hitman fans will have an enhanced experience playing the latest game. Hitman 3 will be the first major release in 2021, and gamers are expecting the year to start off on a good note. If 2021 can replicate a similar success for the gaming community as the previous year did, all gamers are in for a treat.
