Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem has been one of the most exceptional players ever since he first arrived. Amongst the new lot of players, he was the first to lift a Grand Slam title in 2020 at the US Open. 

However, he has been out of action for most of last season and even skipped the Australian Open this year. Thiem was down with a wrist injury and has been working hard behind the scenes in order to return to full form.

Recently, the Austrian star engaged in a question-and-answer round with fans on his Instagram handle. He spoke on how he felt when he lifted his US Open title a couple of years ago.

The fan also mentioned that his/her fingers were crossed in order to help Dominic claim his first Major. Thiem answered this question by stating, “Thanks a lot for crossing you’re fingers. I feel such a huge relief as it was the biggest goal of my career and I hope I can feel it again.”

Coming to tennis, Dominic has not competed since the French Open 2021 exit in the opening round. He has been troubled by injuries on quite a few instances last year.

Speaking about his heroics at the US Open 2020, he won the title under thrilling circumstances. In the final, he was down two sets against German giant Alexander Zverev. However, he did manage to claw his way back into the match. Eventually, he ended up winning the match in what seemed like a fairytale ending for the former World No. 3 star.

Coming to the present date, Thiem is eager to come back to the courts and compete against the best players in action. He intends to resume his tennis after a long period at the Indian Wells Masters. We wish him all the best in the future.
