Aloy then begins her journey in the massive open-world that looks awe-inspiring at first glance, but contains animal-like machines ready to kill her. As soon as one machine spots the protagonist, she tries her best to escape. In the process, she goes underwater where her hair glow and moves along the current. To say the least, such attention to detail by the developers is commendable.

Soon after, we finally witness the combat in Horizon Forbidden West. It is self-evident that melee combat has significantly improved, and the fighting mechanics seem a lot more intense.

All in all, the game looks absolutely stunning and the background music is like the icing on the cake.

Weapon upgrades, new items, and storyline updates

Horizon Forbidden West takes place after a catastrophe has hit the Earth. Humans are no longer the most dominant species, and Aloy and her friends must find a technology to survive among the machines. To worsen the situation, a peculiar red blight is taking over the planet.

The challenges this time are harder than ever, but Aloy has some new tools to deal with the adversities. These include the Focus Scanner, the Pullcaster, the Shieldwing, and the Diving Mask, helping Aloy to climb, swim, escape enemies, and combat.

From the looks of it, players who had complained about the slow movement in Horizon Zero Dawn won’t face any such issues now.

The game’s arsenal is equally exciting with several weapons such as Spear, Slingshot, Bows, Spike Launcher, and Smoke Bombs. All the weapons can be used efficiently in different situations. There’s a wide variety of enemies in the game, and one must use all the combat options wisely to defeat them.
