Over the last year, the LIV Golf vs. PGA Tour war has evolved into a battle of players and officials. The biggest feud is now between PGA Tour loyalist, Tiger Woods and the new league’s CEO, Greg Norman. The two have been exchanging blows with each other both directly through their bold statements and indirectly through the moves they’ve made for their sides. Just hours ago, the 15-time major winner one-upped the CEO through an axed LIV Golf player. And through the Tour’s latest move, Woods takes yet another step ahead in their fight!

Tiger Woods gives two back-to-back blows to Greg Norman

On Tuesday this week, a former breakaway league player, Travis Smyth, clapped back at Norman for sacking him after he earned his way onto the Open Championship field. He made sure to call out the 2-time major winner publicly, but not before showcasing how much he revered the 82-time PGA Tour winner, thus making his revenge with ‘the Shark’ even sweeter.

Following that stinger, Woods won yet again, this time on the El Camaleon golf course in Mayakoba. Earlier this year, the course hosted the new league’s second-season inaugural event and was hoping to still retain its PGA Tour ties and host the World Wide Technology Championship. But it soon became clear that wasn’t an option!

‘Many Different Distractions’: Tiger Woods Takes a Brutal Dig at Greg Norman’s LIV Golf Over an Enduring Controversy

Norman designed the Mayakoba course back in 2006. It served as a PGA Tour stop for 16 years until this year when it chose LIV Golf. As per a recent Golf Digest report, The Tour announced its replacement and the site couldn’t be more poetic when it comes to the rivalry between the two sides. After all, the new WWT Championship will now be hosted by the El Cardonal Course, a Tiger Woods-designed course!

El Cardonal was the first course the PGA Tour champion designed back in 2014. Jumping from Norman’s designed course to that designed by the golf legend, the Tour has clearly sent out a strong anti-LIV statement, and Woods has yet again dominated the Australian golfer.

The course is located at Diamante Cabo San Lucas, and is a whopping 7,300-yard par-72 course. It will now become one of the two PGA Tour stops in Mexico. The event at the El Cardonal will feature a 132-player field and see the Tour pros compete for 500 FedExCup points during its fall schedule.
