LeBron James makes a hilarious clarification to reporters 

Amid the Lakers’ disappointing Western Conference series, LeBron James’ legendary former teammate Carmelo Anthony announced his retirement on Monday. In response to the legend’s decision, James, Kevin Durant and several stars from the NBA world expressed their wishes through social media. Moreover, King James went a notch up, as he was featured in a video alongside Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura wishing the star via the Lakers’ Twitter handle.

However, this video prompted an adverse response from a section of the fans, as they wanted the team to focus on winning the crucial game. Moreover, addressing the press after the Monday night loss, James took the question regarding the video. He clarified to the press that he knew about Anthony’s retirement earlier, and made the room burst into laughter when he said, “I shot the video a week ago.”

He also addressed the hate among fans, as he said, “People might think I am lying about that too, I shot that video like a week ago.”

The Lakers’ bumpy journey came to an end on Monday even after James created a personal record with the most points in the first half of a postseason game. However, he couldn’t carry the momentum in the second half, as the LA team succumbed to a 111-113 loss.

James penned a heartfelt note for Anthony

After the sudden retirement announcement from Anthony, LeBron James took to his Instagram and penned a heartfelt note. The note read, “You are such a legend and beyond my brother!! and congratulations on a helluva ride.” Notably, both legends played their rookie season in the 2003-04 edition. Even though James’ popularity overshadowed Melo’s greatness, he still proved his prowess with consistent performance.
