Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has inspired Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor.

McGregor will be making a return to the UFC circuit when he will face Donald Cerrone on January 19, about 10 months after announcing his retirement, and over a year after his last fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Ahead of his return, Mcgregor spoke about how he the year out of action and the things he is looking forward to in 2020.

McGregor, 31, said he was inspired by LeBron James for spending on fitness.

“I read something about LeBron James a while back, about maybe a year ago, that he spent $1.5 million annually on his health,” McGregor was quoted as saying by ESPN. “His everything, his nutrition, his training, his everything. And I spent nothing. “I was like that’s not the way to do this. But I drop money on a blatant car, or a watch, you know what I mean? I spend on myself, on my health and my fitness and that’s helped me. Then you acquire more (money). You acquire even more then, when you’re sharp and that’s what I am now.”

James has invested in the latest equipments and therapies to make his body better. He is known to have replicated the gyms at Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers at his residence. He also has his own chefs which enables to consume a proper diet.
